Welcome, and thank you for visiting my profile.
I’m Rachael, a fully qualified BACP registered counsellor offering one-to-one therapy for adult individuals both in person and online.
Life can sometimes feel overwhelming, and during those times, our usual ways of coping might not be enough. Reaching out for support is a courageous and meaningful step. You don’t have to face things alone.
How I can help
I have experience supporting clients with a wide range of issues, including:
• Anxiety and panic
• Depression and low mood
• Low self-esteem and confidence
• Stress and burnout
• Grief, loss and bereavement
• Relationship difficulties
• Challenging life transitions
You may also be feeling stuck, lost, or unsure why things don’t feel right. Whatever you’re struggling with, it’s valid, and we can explore it together.
What to expect
I offer a warm, compassionate, and relational space where you can speak freely and be met with care and acceptance. Together, we’ll look at what’s going on in your inner and outer worlds, making sense of your experiences and identifying patterns that may no longer serve you.
As your counsellor, I’ll be alongside you, helping you safely process difficult feelings or unresolved issues, and supporting your emotional resilience. I also offer gentle challenge, alternative perspectives, psychoeducation and tools where helpful, to empower you toward positive change.
Above all, I aim to create a therapeutic relationship grounded in genuine connection, safety and trust, where you can feel truly seen, heard, understood and valued for who you are.
My approach
I use an integrative model, meaning I draw from a range of therapeutic theories to tailor our work to you as a unique individual. The relationship between us is central to the process and always at the heart of the work.
My practice is client-centred, meaning you decide what we focus on, how fast we go, and the direction our work takes. My role is not to give advice or ‘fix’ you, but to facilitate your process as you reconnect with your own inner resources and sense of direction.
Getting started
I offer a free 15–20-minute introductory phone call to help us get an idea about whether we might work well together.
Next, we may arrange an initial session to explore more fully what you’re looking for and decide whether counselling with me would be the right thing for you.
The session will involve talking in more depth about your reasons for seeking counselling, gathering some key information, including assessing risk, and if appropriate beginning to establish the main focus for the work.
The fee for ongoing sessions is £55 for 50 mins, payable in advance. Some concessions are available.
I understand that reaching out can feel daunting, but I welcome any questions you may have. Please feel free to get in touch, or visit my website for more information.
