Hello, I am Ginny.  I have worked for a range of organisations, in the areas of social care and education, supporting people during difficult and challenging times in their lives for 35 years and have been counselling since 2017.

During this time I became aware of how psychological issues can not only affect how we think and act but also affect our bodies and our well-being.  How worries and concerns can make us feel physically sick and unable to cope with our lives on a day-to-day basis.

Through my personal experiences, I’ve learned the power of mindfulness and movement to overcome challenges and build resilience. I integrate these practices into my work as a counsellor and therapist, offering yoga, spirituality, and mindfulness coaching to support your healing journey.

Counselling Support:

I work using Person Centred, Somatic and Trauma informed approaches.

What does this mean for you?  As a Person-Centred counsellor I can work in a way that is right for you, taking the time that you feel you need to talk, reflect, and learn about the ways you would like to make change.   I can support you whilst you explore the areas of your life that you wish to transform, come to terms with or just move forwards to a place where you feel more able to cope.

As a somatic therapist I can help you to look at and gain understanding about how life’s challenges can affect your body, your mind and your well-being and provide you with skills that can support sustainable change.

Using Trauma informed theories and practises I can share with you psychoeducation and information about how pain and feelings can prevent us from moving forwards in our life and together we can explore ways to heal both psychologically and physically.

Testimonials from clients:

“Working with Ginny has helped me to not only notice what was happening in my life and how it was affecting me, but also to help me think through different strategies to cope with life’s challenges.

I can honestly say that I walked a little bit lighter each time I came away from a counselling sessions.  Her support has been invaluable during a difficult time”.  M, Chippenham (2024)

“Ginny’s understanding, knowledge, patience and support were awesome.  Over a three-month period, Ginny helped me navigate a journey of self-discovery, self-awareness and renewal.  She helped me get free of my “box” by coming to terms with my past.  She also taught me ways to manage the “down times” which would still inevitably occur in the future.

I am incredibly grateful to Ginny for helping me, my time spent with her as my therapist has helped me to find a way to a new, happier way to live.”  R, Chippenham (2024)

“Ginny has provided invaluable support and guidance during a difficult stage in my life. She has been so easy to talk to and open up to, she treats our sessions with respect, care, and insight. She creates a non-judgmental environment, and helps make sense of what felt like chaos. Her approach feels tailor-made to my needs. Leaving each session I feel lighter, empowered to take control of my life again with the tools she provides me. Ginny has helped lift the cloud that I was under. Thank you Ginny “  S (Online) 2025

Supervision support:

I am able to offer individual supervision support to trainee counsellors, those newly in practise and experienced counsellors.  I have been in private practise myself for five years and worked with charities for two years during my own training.

I work both face to face and online via Zoom, Microsoft Teams or Facetime.  Face to face support is available within Chippenham and Swindon but online working means that I can connect with and support you if you are living and working within the UK.

Sessions;

I can offer 60/90 minute sessions. ( I also offer a 30 minute free introduction session for us to establish whether we could be the right fit when you are seeking one-to-one supervision support.)

As I am currently in my first year of training as a counselling supervisor I am offering a reduced rate of £40 per session for either one or one and a half hours.
