My name is Jess Crampton. I am a Psychotherapist in training (UKCP registered) and therefore can offer low cost Psychotherapy to adults. Sometimes events, relationships, or traumas can effect us deeply, and it can feel like there is very little joy. In coming to see me, you will be welcomed with thoughtful support, warmth and insight. It is your time, and can be used for exploration and reflection on the issues or concerns you are experiencing. Therapy involves the consideration of the origin of problems such as depression, or anxiety, and as a result can take time. It can sometimes be hard or challenging, but ultimately the benefits of Psychotherapy can be life-changing.
I am passionate about helping others, I have worked as a Nurse in the NHS for many years and have witnessed how intrinsically linked physical and mental health are. Through my own varied life experience I understand many of the stresses and strains that life presents us with. Life can be really hard. Together we can work through the things that are painful and stuck, to find a way forward. I have a deep connection to others and believe that Psychotherapy can help in finding a way to enjoy what life has to offer us. I am committed to helping others to get to a place where life is full and rewarding. You can find out more about me here: www.waypoint-psychotherapy.com
What to expect at your appointment?
I am a Psychotherapist in training at BCPC (Bath Centre for Psychotherapy and Counselling). The course is accredited by the UKCP and the MA is validated by Middlesex University. This is a long postgraduate course over many years, combining rigorous academic and experiential learning. The orientation of my practice is Humanistic and Integrative and I am currently in my third year of training. I am fully insured and a trainee member of UKCP, and I work with clients who are over 18.
In my previous career I worked as a Registered Nurse within the NHS for 15 years. This has given me a wealth of experience in supporting people through extremely difficult and challenging times.
My training is Humanistic and Integrative; this means that I draw on theories that link past experiences with our how we are in the present, and that the quality of the therapeutic relationship is of key importance. Some of the common concerns clients bring to sessions are relationship problems, anxiety, feeling depressed, loss of direction, a traumatic life event (recent or in further past), stress, bereavement, big changes in life, obsessive patterns etc. Work can be short or long term.
Low cost Therapy for those aged 18yrs and over. Because I am in training I am able to offer a reduced rate of £25 per session (50mins). I offer short-term and longer-term Psychotherapy. This would begin online or via telephone until the Covid-19 conditions improve, this would then move to face to face consultations.
