Hello, I am Josie, an Integrative Counsellor counselling all age groups with a specialism in therapeutic work with children 4 years old and up.

Below is a snap shot of what I offer, but do please have a look at my website where there is further information, if needed.

These days, there are many reasons, children and young people may need emotional support at a certain point to help them deal with issues that they are facing as they grow up.

Every child and young person has different and unique needs and therefore I use an integrative approach, based on Person Centred, Psychodynamic and Play Therapy, using not only verbal communication but also play, drama and creative materials to help them express and explore these issues in a non-judgmental environment.

I work from a bright, inviting therapy room full of materials in order to offer children and young people the secure and safe environment within which to explore their feelings and thoughts. When professionally explored, this is often the key to enable them to process and move forward positively.
With older children and young people, who sometimes have a specific issue or goal which they wish to explore and try to resolve, I use Solution Based Therapy and Narrative Therapy to work with them to find personal and realistic ways to move forward.

My experience enables me to provide a warm, confidential and supportive approach in order to help children and young people work through difficulties such as:
• Anxiety
• Anger
• Withdrawn behaviour
• Family Breakdown
• Difficulties with relationship with parents, siblings, peers etc
• Bullying
• Bereavement
• Low self-esteem
• Risk of exclusion

As an adult and/or parent you may also be seeking support. I work in a person centred way, drawing on my training in pyschodynamic, Solution Based, Narrative and Play Therapy, to help you see things more clearly. This can enable you to explore difficulties that have arisen in the present or past, that may be preventing you from moving forwards in your life. I can work with you to explore your own choices, empowering you to make changes in your life.
My experience enables me to provide a warm, confidential and supportive approach to help you work through difficulties such as:

• Self esteem and confidence issues
• Anxiety
• Stress
• Relationship difficulties
• Anger issues
• Personal growth
• Change and Transition
• Isolation and Loneliness
