A bit about counselling…..
Coming into counselling, especially for the first time, can be a daunting experience. So I aim to offer you a professional counselling service by providing a warm, supportive and confidential space, enabling you to explore concerns at your own pace and to give you the chance to express yourself freely without the worry of being judged or the intrusion of someone else’s opinions. Having had my own varied life experiences, I feel this helps me to understand many of the difficulties that life can present us with.
Counselling can help by working together to try and make more sense of things. Having the time and space to do this together enables a healing process through self-reflection, helping you grow as a person and to feel more empowered and self-aware. I see counselling as a journey of self-discovery and personal growth; a journey that I walk alongside you with.
I feel its very important that you are comfortable with your counsellor and for that reason our first session will allow us to see if we are a “good fit” to work well together in addition to discussing what you hope to achieve from counselling and giving you the opportunity to ask me any other questions.
A bit about me….
Working integratively means that I am able to draw from several different theories which enables me to adapt the work to suit your individual needs. In addition, there maybe scope to sometimes include mindfulness, creative working and where relevant, guided meditation, if these feel beneficial to the work.
I offer counselling to adults on either a short or long term basis, dependent on the client’s needs. Short term counselling often focuses on a particular issue, ie. loss, whereas longer term counselling allows for deeper exploration and understanding of how life’s experiences have (and are) impacting on you.
Each session lasts for 50 minutes; usually sessions are booked at the same time/day each week. My practice is based in Chippenham, Wiltshire and has free parking available outside.
My current availability is Monday (afternoon/evening) and Tuesday morning/afternoon.
