The counselling I provide is built around you as individual and your own needs. My role is to assist and accompany you in your own journey in a way which enables your inner resources and strengths to be unveiled and perused; supporting you to reconnect with yourself and with what is going on, both within and around you, noticing your responses and facilitating your own personal change and growth.
I offer a warm and caring space for you to getting back in touch with who you are and your needs, I believe in the importance of warmth, confidentiality, presence and respect to form the basis of a rapport where you are able to feel and express yourself in a non-judgmental environment; this allows exploration, facilitates insights, growth and emotional healing.
I am passionate about my work and have been gaining valuable experience working in different agency settings where I work with male and female adult clients across a broad range of cultural backgrounds and presenting a variety of emotional issues such as
- the impact of childhood trauma, abuse or neglect,
- domestic violence,
- loss and bereavement.
- low self-confidence or self-esteem,
- physical and emotional abuse,
- relationship difficulties,
- work related anxiety, stress and burn out
My approach is Integrative, which means that I draw from several major schools of counselling and psychotherapy with preference for Existential-Gestalt approach. At the core of my practice is the respect of our uniqueness and diversity as human beings: I value and accept you as your own person.
I hold the following CPCAB Diplomas:
- Therapeutic Counselling
- Psychotherapeutic Counselling
I am a registered member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) and abide by their ethical guidelines. I have professional, clinical supervision which is confidential, and I am committed to my continual professional development.
I am fully insured and hold an enhanced DBS
